Public Libraries Section Project Prize 2017

Library Association of Ireland

Public Libraries Section Project Prize 2017

The Library Association of Ireland Public Libraries Section presents the Public Libraries Section Project Prize 2017. This is the third year of the prize following 2 very successful competitions in 2015 and 2016 where Carlow Libraries and Cork City Libraries were the winners.

We are inviting Library authorities/branches to apply for a prize of €1,000 to fund or part fund an idea or initiative of their choice.  The purpose of the prize is to encourage libraries to develop and carry out a project which the prize can then help to bring to fruition.

A judging panel will shortlist 3 finalists and the Public Libraries Section will then invite 3 delegates to attend the Public Libraries Conference in November (all delegate fees funded by the Section) where the 3 shortlisted projects can be presented to all Conference delegates and the 2017 winner will be announced.

Download the application form.

Please note the closing date for completed applications is 4pm Friday 29th September 2017.

If you or any of your library staff have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact any member of the Public Libraries Section committee.
